After a lot of mysterious tweets and posts regarding its upcoming laptop from Xiaomi India and its CEO, it is finally shredding some light for us. Manu Kumar Jain’s recent tweet confirms that it will launch the RedmiBook 13 in India on June 11.
Previously, we speculated that Xiaomi will bring its premium Mi Notebook series of laptops in India but it seems the company will be launching its budget RedmiBook 13 laptop series in India first, however it will be rebranded and launched under it’s Mi branding in India.
The teased image shows the laptop with slim bezels which confirms the fact that this will be the same Intel-powered 2019 variant of RedmiBook 13 launched in China. It features the 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs along with dedicated NVIDIA MX250 graphics.
It features a 13-inch Full-HD bezel-less panel with a high 89% screen-to-body ratio. Also, it has 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The laptop will include a 40Whr battery with 65W charging support and feature two 2W speakers. For ports, we have 2x USB 3.1 port, 1x HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Obviously, with this laptop Xiaomi will target budget laptop seekers, students, office people and all those who need a good working laptop but are short on budget. In China, the base Core i5 model of RedmiBook 13 is priced at 4,199 yuan around ₹44,500 while the Core i7 model costs 5,199 yuan around ₹55,000.
It will be interesting to see how Xiaomi prices the Mi rebranded RedmiBook 13 in India and what will be the company’s marketing strategy in the country.
