Forbes has published a list of the highest-paid athletes in the world in 2020. The earnings of the players have gone done for the first time since the last four years. This has been due to the Coronavirus pandemic which has wreaked havoc financially.

The 100 highest-paid athletes earned a combined $3.6 billion this year, which is 9% below 2019 and the first decline since 2016.

Roger Federer is the first tennis player in the 30-year history to be at No. 1 spot in the list of highest-paid athletes in the world in 2020. He is followed by two football giants, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
