Bayern Munich have officially signed Sadio Mane on a three-year deal from Liverpool. They have confirmed the transfer on their official website, with the player completing his medical for the transfer recently as well.
The Senegalese announced his decision to leave Liverpool after the Champions League final, which they ended up losing to Real Madrid. And now, he has a new challenge ahead of him.
Sadio Mane signs for Bayern Munich
Here is what the player had to say about the transfer: “I’m really happy to finally be at FC Bayern in Munich. We spoke a lot and I felt big interest from this great club right from the beginning, so for me there were no doubts. It’s the right time for this challenge. I want to achieve a lot with this club, in Europe too. During my time in Salzburg I watched a lot of Bayern games – I really like this club!”
The 30-year-old has moved for a €32 million deal, along with €9 million in add-ons. Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez as the replacement for Sadio Mane, who has been unveiled as well. Mane spent six years with Jurgen Klopp, and was one of his first signings at Liverpool. He established himself as one of the best in the world during this time, and is now in the Bundesliga.
With the arrival of Mane, Bayern are comfortable in their attacking options with the future of Serge Gnabry uncertain, and that of Lewandowski non-existent at the club.
