Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has had his opening meeting with Bayern Munich for a contract renewal. The board is still pushing for the Polish striker to renew his deal and continue with the club for the coming years.
Lewandowski’s current deal expires in 2023, and he would push to leave Bayern Munich if his contract is not renewed by the summer. Barcelona are in the race to sign the Bundesliga icon, and are pushing to ensure that they get the number 9 in the transfer window.
Bayern Munich start talks with Robert Lewandowski
This season, the Poland international has scored 48 goals across all competitions, and has helped the Bavarians win their tenth consecutive Bundesliga title. He is also the top scorer in the German top flight for another season, and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The Bayern Munich board have repeatedly stated that Robert Lewandowski will be continuing with them next season. They are also hopeful of reaching an agreement with him for the coming years. But, nothing has been agreed between the two parties yet.
As of now, the situation is still very open and anything could happen. Barcelona have not made any contact with Bayern Munich for the striker yet, since they are aware that Lewandowski would prefer staying with Die Roten. But if there is no agreement, a transfer worth €40-50 million could be on the cards at the end of the season.
