Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement with Erling Haaland over personal terms for a transfer this season. The striker will be leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, and has an €80 million release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club.
However, the player has his pick of the suitors since several top clubs are willing to pay the release clause. The financial offer that Manchester City can make is almost unmatchable considering their seemingly endless supply of money. And, they seem to have offered Haaland a £500,000 per week contract if he moves to England.
Erling Haaland agreed £500,000 per week contract for Man City move
Should Haaland make the move to the Etihad Stadium, he would become the highest-earning player in the Premier League. Real Madrid are the other club that are in the race for the Norwegian striker. Paris Saint-Germain have also been rumoured considering the imminent departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
Pep Guardiola has asked for the board to sign Erling Haaland ‘at all costs’, and it now seems like the Catalonian will have his man at the beginning of the next season.
Erling’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, played for Manchester City back in the day. And he has been heavily involved in the negotiations between City and Borussia Dortmund for the transfer to go through. He is also set to receive a massive commission from the deal alongside Mino Raiola, Erling’s agent.
