The fact that a third company is joining the discrete GPU segment excites us all. With the addition of the blue team, the GPU market is expected to become even more competitive, providing gamers with more alternatives, better performance, brand new features, and more. Intel will finally unveil its first Arc GPU products based on the Alchemist Xe-HPG architecture next week, on March 30th.

On its Twitter feed, the business has shared a short teaser that shows what appears to be a laptop. Intel has stated that Arc Alchemist GPUs will be available for notebooks and laptops in Q1 2022, followed by desktop variants in Q2 and workstation variations in the third quarter.

The SOC2 die, which is the smallest of the two and targeted for entry-level and mainstream applications, will be the basis for Intel’s initial Arc Alchemist GPUs. We may expect the processor to power several GPUs on laptops ranging from the Arc A350M through the Arc A370M and Arc A380M.

Those looking for more performance will have to wait a little longer for the SOC1 die, which will be released slightly later, but still in Q2 2022.
