As per Counterpoint, the share of Android flagship smartphones in the Chinese market has fallen by 8%

In the last couple of years, the way iPhones have dominated the premium smartphone market is incredible, people have been flocking towards them instead of buying an Android flagship. Now, this is evident from Counterpoint Research’s latest data that people are buying more iPhones than Android flagships as per 2021’s data.

As per Counterpoint, the share of Android flagship smartphones in the Chinese market has fallen by 8%

For the market share of Android smartphones priced above US$600 (about 3,828 yuan) in China, there has been a downfall from 44.6% in 2020 to 36.5% in 2021. As ITHome states, this is mostly because of the fall of Huawei and which is why Apple is dominating in the largest smartphone market of the world.

Even though a lot of Chinese smartphone makers are launching new phones like Xiaomi’s Mi 12 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra or Honor’s Magic V and Magic 4 series or Oppo’s Find N and OPPO Find X5 series. It is expected that a lot of these new Android flagships will give a tough competition to Apple, however, the task won’t be easy at all.

Taking the example of Xiaomi, its sales in January 2022 has dropped by about 60% from the previous year. Though domestic manufacturers in China have a long way ahead in the market to capture and challenge Apple, the Cupertino giant’s brand value and reputation go to prove why it’s dominating.
