Gujarat Titans is an IPL team based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It will make its debut in the tournament in the year 2022. It was founded in 2021 and will play its home matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. The franchise is owned by CVC Capital Partners. The franchise will be led by Hardik Pandya and coached by Ashish Nehra.
History
The Governing Council of IPL had issued an invitation to tender for two new sides in August 2021. 22 companies were interested in total but due to its expensive price, there were only six serious bidders. The BCCI allowed a consortium of three companies or individuals to bid for each franchise. CVC Capital Partners, a British private equity and investment advisory firm, won the rights to operate the Ahmedabad franchise with a bid of ₹5,625 crores (US$740 million).
Ahead of the Mega Auction, the franchise retained three players namely, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan.

Strength
Gujarat Titans have hard-hitting batters — Pandya, Miller, Wade, Rahul Tewatia. their spinners like R Sai Kishore and experienced Jayant Yadav who can change the dimension of the match alongside their spin-ace Rashid. Experienced players can take the team to great heights.
Weaknesses
The top-order of Gujarat Titans isn’t that strong. Hopefully, players like Gill, Abhinav Sadarangani and Saha can score 10-12 runs per over with consistent performance. Apart from Mohammad Shami, there are hardly any fast bowlers. From Pandya, it’s expected that he bowls like his peak days to take the team to great heights.
