After registering a massive win against Pakistan, India played its second match against New Zealand but this time the opposition won the game by 62 runs. Lea Tahuhu and Amelia Kerr picked three wickets each. India could register only 198 runs and New Zealand was able to register a comprehensive 62 run victory.

India vs New Zealand: Match Highlights

Amy Satterthwaite and Amelia Kerr smashed Half-centuries. Soon, New Zealand’s bowlers put pressure on the India batters and registered a massive victory of 62 runs against the Indian team in Hamilton. India’s had to chase 261 runs in 50 overs. Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma got out early that had put pressure on the team. Mithali Raj scored 31 runs in 56 balls and Hamanpreet scored 71 in 63 deliveries. All the batters got dismissed by 198. Pooja Vastrakar had picked up four wickets for India and New Zealand could muster 260/9. Suzie Bates departed on just five runs and Vastrakar removed Sophie Devine for 35 and it was a low time for the hosts. Amelia Kerr scored fifty runs but soon got dismissed by Rajeshwari Gayakwad. Amy Satterthwaite and Maddy Green took the team past 150 runs before the 30th over. After Satterwaite’s return to the pavilion, New Zealand lost four wickets very quick in 31 runs towards the end. Katev martin scored 41 that helped NZ reach a total score of 260 runs in 50 overs.

The hosts had an advantage of playing the match at home and their victory in the recent ODIs against India was the confidence booster.

New Zealand is a strong team and so is Team India. The Indian players will definitely try for a victory trusting the process and giving their best.
