Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are planning to hold a series of friendly matches in the United States this summer. The matches will be played before the start of the 2022/23 season, and will help the clubs deal with the heavy financial losses due to the pandemic.
The three clubs have played in the United States previously, participating in the 2017 and 2018 International Champions Cup editions. The trio has also approached AC Milan to be the fourth club to join them as they aim to hold a knockout tournament.

No fixed venue has been announced for the friendly games as of yet. But, it has been rumoured that cities on the West Coast might be hosting the friendly matches this summer. However, that could change by the time the plans are confirmed.
AC Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus were among the first four clubs to form the European Super League. Widespread protests from fans and threats from UEFA resulted in them shutting down the plans. However, Florentino Perez has insisted that the European Super League is needed and it is only a matter of time before the project restarts.
An El Clasico encounter between Barcelona and Real Madrid would help the Blaugrana deal with their dire financial situation. The other clubs would also benefit from the injection of revenue from friendly matches played in America.
