Chelsea won’t be allowed to wear the FIFA Club World Cup batch on their Premier League shirts

Premier League club Chelsea won the FIFA Club World Cup 2022 after defeating Palmeiras 2-1 after 120 minutes of football. Kai Havertz penalty became the deciding factor in the tie as Chelsea made it to the top of club football.

However, the Club World Cup champions won’t be allowed to wear the Champions badge on their Premier League shirts. This is because Premier League prohibit any mid-season changes to the kits which are already

The last time any Premier League club won the Club World Cup was Liverpool two years ago. They were also not allowed to wear the Champions badge but were allowed to display the golden badge on their kit in just a single game after they won the competition.

So, Chelsea can also request a similar exemption and wear it for their next Premier League match. But they can use it in all their Champions League matches starting from when they take on Lille in their Round of 16 match. They can also wear it in their FA Cup matches if they apply for special permission from the FA.

Chelsea, also, cannot use the Club World Cup champions batch on any other shirts like their training kits as FIFA has banned using them on their official playing shirts.

“As per the usage guidelines, the winning team can wear the FIFA World Champions Badge from the day it becomes champions up to and including the final of the next edition of the tournament,” FIFA explain, via Marca.

“The badge may only be used on the current official team playing shirts.

“That means that the FIFA World Champions Badge may not be used on previous [or] historical versions of the team shirts, training jerseys, tracksuits, training tops or any other products.”
