India vs England U-19 WC Final: IND beats ENG by 4 wickets and wins its fifth title

India beats England by 4 wickets at Antigua and lifts its 5th U-19 World Cup.

Match Highlights

Nishant Sindhu has scored a spectacular half-century for India that helped the team to win U-19 World Cup. Joshua Boyden from England had broken their fifty-run partnership between Raj Bawa (35) and Sindhu. The duo did give a tough fight to the opponent team that could have triggered the team but still, the victory was theirs. England also fought back after being skitted for 189 runs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi got a golden duck while chasing a target of 190. Harnoor Singh and Shaik Rasheed later tried to rebuild the entire Indian innings.  Harnoor (21) took the long walk after getting off to a start while Rasheed continued from where he left in the semi-final against Australia. The Indian skipper Yash Dhull joined Rasheed on a partnership and were trying their best to make the team win. Both of them had a stand of 46 runs but after Rashid score a 50 he got dismissed. Following him, Dhull returned to the pavilion scoring 17. At that time, India’s score was 97 for 4 wickets and they required some runs less than 100 more runs to win the trophy.

Earlier didn’t have a good batting performance initially and all the credit goes to Ravi Kumar and Raj Bawa. Ravi had taken 4 wickets giving only 34 runs Bawa ended with 5 wickets for 31 runs. James Rew had had a massive impact on the scorecard as he scored 95 runs with the support of James Sales. Their 75 run partnership helped the team reach a total of 189 runs.
