It has been confirmed by Samsung that it will officially announce the new Galaxy S22 series of smartphones on 9th February, prior to this, they have also announced their new flagship SoC in the form of Exynos 2200. It features a new Xclipse GPU that is based on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture, which means it brings all the features like Hardware-Accelerated Ray Tracing, Variable Rate Shading and much more.

Prior to the original launch, the S22 series have already been leaked in full glory and it’s everywhere, also the partial specs of the series along with their pricing have been leaked over at WinFuture. As per reports, the European versions of S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra will all be featuring Exynos 2200 processor.

Previously, the American and European variants of the Galaxy S series used to feature Snapdragon chips generally, however, it seems Samsung will sell the Exynos variant to the European states as well. This comes as no surprise because Samsung is heavily marketing the processor and making a statement such as ‘it’s time to get serious about mobile gaming’.

Well, they are indeed very confident about the Xclipse 920 GPU, however, the leaked benchmarks surely suggest that this iGPU is the only point of selling. Though this time around even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is also not a superior chip when compared, however, if they use TSMC’s 4nm node and could optimize then it could be better.

The rumours also suggest that the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Series with Exynos 2200 SoC in Europe will cost between cost 849 to 1449 EUR while starts will commence by February 25th as per WinFuture.

It will be interesting to see how the Xclipse 920 GPU stacks up against the Adreno 730 GPU by Qualcomm and who actually wins the race, though the partiality between Exynos/Snapdragon variants of the S22 series will continue in 2022 as well.
