NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 has a more compelling Indian MSRP over RX 6500 XT

One of the biggest markets right now in the world has to be the budget GPU market that has been neglected for years now and we haven’t had anything new to actually embrace. The gamers had to stick with age-old GTX 1660 Tis or RX 580s, now, in 2022, well, you do have good days coming, finally new GPUs at budget.

The two recently launched GPUs have a pricing that really excite gamers as finally one can buy them without having to break the banks. Until now, in 2021, I couldn’t even suggest gamers to buy a GPU because of the ridiculous pricing, now, as the situation finally starting to look good in 2022, finally, gamers can again make PC builds.

AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT review: Just gets the job done

Well, demand is obviously greater than the supply still in the first half of 2022, however, in the second half things intend to change. Also we know that by the end of this year we will see a completely new generation of GPUs from both NVIDIA and AMD, however, they will again be pricier than ever at launch.

So, if you are a gamer and want a GPU at budget this period might be the best time hunting for one as stocks of these new budget GPUs seems much better than the flagships. NVIDIA recently launched the GeForce RTX 3050 desktop GPU, which to be honest is a fresh breather and the Indian MSRP is what really excites – its priced at Rs.22,200.

Well, obviously this is the price of the reference card by NVIDIA and OEMs will charge more, thanks to NVIDIA GPU demands, the inflation will eventually cost these cards to retail over Rs.30k and that is quite natural. However, on a positive note, in the coming months when the situation eases and we have more supply OEM cards which are very close to the pricing of the reference one could become for affordable.

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3050 slated for a mid-2022 release

While on the AMD side of things, I felt AMD could have made the Indian pricing of the Radeon RX 6500 XT more affordable. As we reviewed, the 4GB GDDR6 VRAM with lesser cores is not a viable option to use over a long period of time as more games will eat more memory, but the Indian pricing of the card starts at Rs.19,990/- plus GST and that translates to Rs.23,588.2, so it costs more than the RTX 3050 on paper.

As I expect the AIB cards from AMD is already being sold at Rs.24k and at launch the RTX 3050 will retail over Rs.30k which is quite natural. The desktop RTX 3050 GPU has 2560 CUDA cores, features 8GB GDDR6 memory with ray tracing and DLSS makes it more compelling option over the RX 6500 XT.

Well, in the coming days, we hopefully will review the RTX 3050 and make a comparison with the RX 6500 XT, so stay tuned for that. The piece of advice we have for you is do wait for these GPUs to launch and be more available as with days we expect the situation to get better.
