Intel’s entry-level Celeron G6900 processor beats Core i9-10900K in single-core performance

This time, Intel’s 12th Gen lineup has got some amazing CPUs that have already and they are really selling like hotcakes in the market. However, the best part of these processors is that some of them are incredibly great value for money picks for the price and that includes the entry-level Intel Celeron G6900.

You might be surprised why we are taking the reference of this dual-core processor which is based on the 10nm ESF Golden Cove core architecture? Well, as it turns out, the latest Geekbench benchmark shows this processor with a clock speed of up to 3.4 GHz, is able to beat the 10th Gen flagship Core i9-10900K in single-core performance.

Intel's entry-level Celeron G6900 processor beats Core i9-10900K in single-core performance

Featuring 4 MB of L3 cache and 2.5 MB L2 cache within a 46W TDP package, this potato CPU only costs $42 USD. This Intel Celeron G6900 was tested on a better ASRock Z690M Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard, which helped the tester to increase clock speeds up to 4.40 GHz by enabling BFB or Base Frequency Boost technology and this paired with 16 GB of DDR4 memory.

As you see the processor scored 1403 points in single-core and 2577 points in multi-core and that single-core score is pretty impressive for an entry-level chip. It is faster than Intel’s Core i9-10900K that had a max boost clock of 5.3 GHz and this is achieved with lower boost clocks which are pretty amazing!

Well, seeing this kind of performance improvement from an entry-level chip, it looks like Intel’s good days are back, provided they can keep stocks of these amazing chips.
