Jamshedpur FC earned a late 3-2 victory against NorthEast United to keep themselves in the race for the top four. Here are the three key talking points from the game.

Late heartbreak for NorthEast United

With the scoreline at 2-1 in favour of Jamshedpur FC heading into stoppage time, NorthEast United thought they had stolen a point when Deshorn Brown scored his second goal of the game.

But, their satisfaction wouldn’t last long, as the Men of Steel immediately found a goal to put themselves ahead, and take all three points from the Highlanders.

Deshorn Brown – the silver lining

NorthEast United are currently in tenth place, and have struggled to keep up with their performances from the last season. But, over the last few games, Deshorn Brown has emerged as a key player for Khalid Jamil.

After his hat-trick against Mumbai City FC, the striker netted a double against Jamshedpur to take his goal tally to 6 in just as many games. He is third in the race for the Golden Boot, behind Bartholomew Ogbeche and Igor Angulo.

Jamshedpur FC show their quality

Jamshedpur FC have been remarkable throughout the season, and their performance against NorthEast showed that they can win games at the death as well. Jordan Murray would score his first goal for the club since the start, while Greg Stewart showcased his brilliance from open play and free-kicks yet again.

With talent stacked all over the pitch, it seems certain that Jamshedpur FC will be in the playoffs when 20 games have been played for all clubs.
