Napoli and Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Axel Tuanzebe until the end of the season. The defender will be joining the Azzurri until June 2022. The loan fee agreed for the transfer is around €500,000.

The original valuation by Manchester United was at €1 million, but that has been halved after negotiations between the two clubs. The deal is a straight loan and does not include any option to buy the player down the line.

Axel Tuanzebe accepts Napoli’s offer

Along with the two clubs, the player has also accepted the offer made by Napoli. The contract will not be a problem between them for the deal. He spent the initial part of the season at Aston Villa, which is his third spell with the club.

Done deal and confirmed. Napoli have reached a verbal agreement with Man United for Axel Tuanzebe: loan until June, €500k loan fee. Here we go soon! πŸ”΄πŸ€ #Napoli

He was initially signed for the entirety of the season, but the deal is now being cut short. The defender has played 505 minutes, making 9 appearances in the Premier League for the Midlands club.

Napoli are currently in the title race, but have fallen behind. They also had to let go of Kostas Manolas in the January transfer window, who joined Olympiacos in Greece. The Manchester United academy graduate will be the temporary replacement for the Greek centre-back.

The final details will be sorted out soon, and we can expect an official confirmation for the signing of Axel Tuanzebe by Napoli in the upcoming days. The deal is in its closing stages as it stands right now.
