The South African team were at 94/4, getting a target of 305 runs against the Indian team in the first Test, Day 4 at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

South African skipper Dean Elgar has played well for the team in the fourth innings as he scored 52 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, playing for India has picked two wickets for the team, Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shami got 2 wickets each.

Previously, the Indian team got bowled out for 174 runs and they have good control in the game. Rishabh Pant the top run-getter for India in the second innings could make only 34 runs. KL Rahul returned to the pavilion making only 23 runs in the second innings. Middle-order batters Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane also couldn’t make their mark.

Team India had earlier lost and regained control of the first test Tuesday and there was a batting collapse of seven wickets for 55 runs and they bowled South Africa out for 197 on the very third day. South Africa gave India a 130 run lead in the first innings. Later it got stretched to 146 by reaching 16/1 in its second innings at stumps on a day when 18 wickets had gone by! No spectators were allowed to be in the stadium because of the pandemic, Covid 19.
