Tornados are coming to Fortnite Chapter 3 according to a new Fortnite Chapter 3 leak. We don’t know when they’ll arrive, but work on the feature has already begun, so it’s safe to assume it’ll arrive sometime during Chapter 3 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile game. Tornados, as you might expect, appear to be wreaking havoc on the map and, potentially, the current meta.
The leak comes from Mang0e, a well-known Fortnite leaker who revealed the new feature on Twitter. Tornados form in about 25 seconds and last about eight minutes, according to the game’s files, according to the leaker. Most things in its path will be picked up and thrown, as you might expect.
Take this with a grain of salt, as always. It’s not official information; it’s a leak. Datamining leaks, on the other hand, are usually quite dependable. Tornados are currently being implemented by Epic Games. There’s no way around it. The question is whether or if this work will be completed, and if so, when.
From meteor strikes to cube invasions to floods, Fortnite has seen its fair share of disasters, but this is a first in terms of natural disasters. There’s no word yet from Epic on when tornadoes will be added to the game, but the conclusion of Fortnite Chapter 2 earlier this month brought some significant changes.
The addition of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the Foundation, a boss who roams the map with heavy gear in tow, is one of the most significant improvements. Epic Games has not responded to this leak in any way as of the time of publication. We don’t expect it to comment on this leak or the speculation it has sparked, but if it does, we’ll make sure to update it.
Fortnite is available, for free, via Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, and mobile devices.
