Right now, there are a lot of free games available, ranging from Epic’s weekly freebies to publisher promos on Steam, GOG sale giveaways, and more. However, keeping track of them all can be a real pain, and you might be missing out on some great opportunities.
So, with this running list of every free game that crosses our screens, we at PC Gamer have decided to assist. Free-to-keep and temporary promotions will be included and noted as such, but free-to-play games and others that are normally free will not be—for that, check out our categorized breakdown of the best free PC games.
Here’s what we’ve got thus far:
Time-limited:
Techland’s 30th-anniversary deal includes Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, a Western FPS with an unreliable narrator. (Steam, until December 14)
Whether you’re tarring the top of the license plate factory you just built or dealing with prisoners hiding escape tunnels behind posters, Prison Architect is full of interesting and emergent gameplay. (Ends Dec 16) (Epic)
Godfall Challenger Edition – This is a version of the looter-slasher that bypasses the campaign and takes you straight to the endgame and maximum level. There’s not much you’re losing out on. (Ends Dec 16) (Epic)
Free to keep:
Cave Story’s Secret Santa – According to Nicalis, this Christmas-themed Cave Story spin-off was “developed in collaboration with Studio Pixel.” (GOG, Steam)
Prime Gaming:
You have to be a subscriber to play the games on Prime Gaming, so they aren’t technically free. However, there’s a lot on offer if you are, including in-game loot and free-to-play game starter packs, so it’s worth keeping an eye on. Prime Gaming is included with Amazon Prime for $13 per month or $120 per year; amazon.com has links to all of the included freebies.
