Vinicius Jr is expected to begin contract talks with Real Madrid within the upcoming weeks. According to several reports, Madrid are preparing a huge contract offer for the winger. They want to keep the player happy since they see him as a vital part of their future.

The Brazilian winger’s current deal expires in June 2024. Hence, there is no rush for the Real Madrid board to push for a contract extension very hard. But, they want to ensure that the player is rewarded for his improvement and he stays committed to Los Blancos.

The current release clause in Vinicius’ contract is around €700 million. However, Madrid want to spike that amount up to €1 billion as they have done with Karim Benzema. This makes it impossible for any club in the world to try and sign him from Madrid. There were rumours that Vinicius would have been used to bring Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu. But, those are completely false.

The Real Madrid board views Vincius Jr as untouchable and want to keep him for as long as possible. The 21-year-old is enjoying his best ever campaign for Los Blancos, scoring nine goals across 16 appearances in all competitions. The new contract will see Vinicius earn around €5.5 million more than he is currently earning. Moreover, he will be tied down to the Santiago Bernabeu until 2028.

In light of his recent form, Vinicius has also been called up to the Brazil national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
