Reputed Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some key specs of the unreleased Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC and the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipsets that are both premium-grade and worthy of being integrated into flagship devices.
Till now, we knew a bit about the chips and how they will be better than their predecessors, but new details released now elaborate on how impressive these chipsets really are.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 898:
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC will have an octa-core CPU comprising a Cortex-X2-based main core alongside 3x Cortex-A719-based performance cores that clocked in at 2.5GHz.
It also contains energy-efficient-Cortex-A510-based cores and the Adreno 730 GPU which will take care of the graphics workload.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will be produced by Samsung via its 4nm process.
MediaTek Dimensity 2000:
Coming to the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipset, it will have a similar configuration to the Snapdragon 898 but will have a considerably higher cluster of the three performance cores clocked at 2.85GHz.
Speculations point out towards the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU that is mostly the one that they have used.
The MediaTek Dimensity 2000 will be based on TSMC’s 4nm process, a production trajectory that is similar to that of the Snapdragon 898.
There are still some unreleased aspects of both the flagship chips and these will become known as we get closer to the eventual unveiling of the SoCs. One area of interest will be the brands that will debut their devices with these chips.
