Cristiano Ronaldo led Manchester United to a comeback victory against Atalanta in the Champions League last night. The Red Devils won 3-2 after being down 2-0 at half time.
Mario Pasalic opened the scoring for Atalanta 15 minutes into the game, tapping the ball past David De Gea. The visitors took a quick free kick and released Zappacosta, who fired in a low cross. Pasalic pounced on the opportunity and gave the Italian club the early lead.
Shortly after, Merih Demiral doubled up for La Dea as he fired a header into the back of the net. Harry Maguire did not mark him properly and the centre-back buried his header into the left corner.
Eight minutes into the second half, Marcus Rashford scored in his first Champions League appearance of the season and dragged his team back into the game. Harry Maguire then took advantage of a defensive error from Lovato to equalise in the 75th minute of the game.
Only a short while later, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a thumping header to beat the keeper and win the game for Manchester United with ten minutes to go.
Atalanta will be disappointed that they let the points slip away from a winning position 45 minutes into the game, but they put up a solid fight against the Premier League outfit to try and win the game. They will have the home advantage when they play Manchester United in the Champions League next time.
