Cristiano Ronaldo scored in Manchester United’s victory against West Ham United at the London Stadium this past weekend. The United number 7 has now scored in 66 different stadiums in Europe’s top five leagues since his first spell with the club starting from 2003/04.

The record was previously held by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, at 64 and was illustrated first by stats specialists Opta. The strike from Ronaldo was not enough to seal all three points for United, and David De Gea had to save a penalty in the final minute of the game for Manchester United to come away with all three points on the day.

Since returning to Manchester United from Juventus, Ronaldo has scored three Premier League goals in two games. He has already matched the goal tallies of Alexis Sanchez and Angel Di Maria as Manchester United players. The Argentinian only spent one year at United before moving on to PSG. Like Ronaldo, he wore the number 7 shirt but could not adapt to the English game.

Sanchez was swapped with Henrikh Mkhitaryan of Arsenal, and did not have a successful spell at Old Trafford. He also wore the number 7 shirt, and was sold to Inter after one-and-a-half seasons with the Red Devils. Ronaldo has also surpassed Memphis Depay, who scored two goals while at United. He currently plays for Barcelona and has improved his performances drastically.

Ronaldo has already inserted himself in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, and is one of the top candidates to go ahead and win the award.
