Another entertaining night of Champions League football concluded matchday one of the new season. Here are all the games that were played out on the second night of the first round:

  • Atlético 0-0 Porto
  • Club Brugge 1-1 PSG
  • Inter 0-1 Real Madrid
  • Liverpool 3-2 AC Milan
  • Man City 6-3 RB Leipzig
  • Sporting 1-5 Ajax
  • Besiktas 1-2 Dortmund
  • Sheriff 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

RB Leipzig and Manchester City took on each other in a 9-goal attacking masterclass from both teams. Although Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig managed to score a hat-trick, the German club were outscored by their opponents. Jack Grealish, Joao Cancelo, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Nathan Ake were all on the scoresheet for the home team as they started off the new campaign with a win.

The contest between AC Milan and Liverpool was a rollercoaster, with Milan banging in two goals within two minutes to equalise, and then go ahead in the game right before halftime. However, Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson scored two brilliant goals to get themselves back into the game and secure all three points to start the new season.

Dortmund started their 21/22 campaign with two goals courtesy of Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland, and comfortably won against Besiktas in Turkey.

Lastly, Ajax dominated their match against Sporting CP. Four goals from Sebastian Haller and one from Steven Berghuis helped the Dutch club easily finish the 90 minutes with a four goal margin of victory.
