Samsung’s Exynos 2200 with AMD’s RDNA2 GPU struggles to barely beat the Exynos 2100 SoC

Samsung’s Exynos 2200 with AMD’s RDNA2 GPU struggles to barely beat the Exynos 2100 SoC

Samsung’s upcoming SoC, which is the Exynos 2200 is one of the most hyped-up products coming to the market and the hype is generated by none other than Samsung itself. Looking at its previous benchmark results, anyone can simply assume that this SoC will be the best chip coming out of the South Korean tech giant.

However, according to a recent leak, Samsung’s upcoming chipset barely beats the Exynos 2100 in the latest compute results, and that is disappointing to see. In the single-core and multi-core scores, the new Exynos 2200 could hardly scrape past the Exynos 2100.

And going with the established, for those looking forward to upgrading to any Galaxy S22 model next year, will have their hopes and excitement shattered that they will not be able to claim performance bragging rights with this chipset variant.

However, it is also true that the Exynos 2200 is currently in its early stages, so we should expect higher scores in the future. Let’s also not forget that the Exynos 2200 will be the first SoC to feature AMD’s RDNA2 GPU and we have reports that the GPU will sport six cores, which is amazing.

In all the reports and benchmark tests, the Exynos 2200 has beaten Apple’s A14 Bionic in the graphics category and not in the CPU tests. If only CPU tests were conducted, we should not be surprised that the A14 Bionic would make short work of the Exynos 2200.

If the A14 Bionic beats the Exynos 2200, then the upcoming A15 Bionic ultimately crushes Samsung’s SoC by a much wider margin. However, we soon expect Samsung’s Exynos 2200 to bridge that performance gap extensively by the end of its complete production.
