OFFICIAL: BCCI announce the 15-Man Team India squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Before the announcement of the squad, there were doubts regarding which player will make the cut and which player will be left out for this prestigious tournament. All those doubts are cleared as BCCI has announced the 15 man squad of Team India for the ICC T20 world cup which will commence from 17th October. However, the Super 12 stage of the world cup will be starting from 23rd October.

BCCI’s team selection was streamed live on Ani for free and as a result, fans were able to follow the entire announcement. Hence let’s take a look at the players who are in the 15 man squad of the Indian team.

TEAM

Batsmen– Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (VC), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk).

All Rounders- Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel.

Bowlers– Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.

BCCI posted the news of the team on Twitter and also gave an update regarding the three standby players that could get selected for India in the T20 World Cup squad.

The board has selected a very balanced squad consisting a good mix of players in every department for this T20 world cup. Hence cricket fans will be very excited after taking a look at the current Indian setup. However, the only surprise exclusion from this squad is of the leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

BCCI have appointed former Indian T20 World Cup Winning Captain Ms Dhoni as the Mentor of Team India

After selecting the 15-man squad and three standby players, BCCI also announced the mentor for this T20 World Cup squad of India. They have declared that MS Dhoni who is currently retired from all formats of the game will act as a guiding hand to all the players in this squad.

Hence it is needless to say that the Indian cricket fans will be very excited after hearing this news. Because the former world cup winning captain will impart his valuable wisdom to the young players in the squad. Moreover, his presence in the dressing room will surely boost the morale of the team.
