Lenovo makes some really premium notebooks for consumers, and among them, the Lenovo Yoga 6 is definitely one that should look at. It features efficient and powerful AMD Ryzen 4000U APUs while retaining the elegance of a modern 2-in-1 laptop.
This is a laptop is more of an upgraded IdeaPad Flex 5, which at one point in time was the best-selling 2-in-1 laptop in the US and also got popular in India as well. The Lenovo Yoga 6 takes the basics from the Flex 5 and get some major upgrades that make it buying worthwhile.
That Fabric finish on the top makes it look gorgeous and premium. The 2-in-1 laptop is easy to use while still being very portable as it weighs only 1.32 kg has got all the necessary specs for your everyday work, entertainment or even casual play.

Our review unit has 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD, so it’s not a retail unit, which should have a better SSD and up to 16GB of RAM.
Design & Build
The moment you see it, that Fabric finish and the Aluminium top makes it feel premium, though the body is made out of plastic but doesn’t feel that cheap.
The laptop has dimensions of 308.1 x 206.5 x 17.1-18.3 mm (12.12 x 8.12 x 0.67-0.72 inches); also, the unique Abyss Blue colour looks good, overall, not an extra-ordinary design but very usable.
According to Lenovo, it is treated with a stain-resistant finish; this versatile 2-in-1 laptop comes with subtly rounded edges designed to feel comfortable in your hands. The 360-degree hinge is quite strong, and there were no issues while transitioning from tablet to laptop mode and back.
Display
The Lenovo Yoga 6 comes with a 13.3-inch FHD (1920×1080) IPS Glossy display, which is good enough for indoor usage, though having that reflective screen outdoors could be an issue. The display has a peak brightness of up to 300nits and covers 72% NTSC colour gamut, so it’s adequately bright and colour accurate for doing productivity work or even entertainment.
It is a 10-point Multi-touch display, and having the touch functionality on a laptop does help you use it in tablet mode or for various other applications that benefit from this. Although there’s no Pen bundled with our review unit, you can use the free Lenovo Digital Pen bundled with the retail unit if you need to do drawings or illustrative works on this laptop.
The laptop gets the job done for daily usage, entertainment or any work. To be fair, only if the display was not reflective I would have given a 10/10. Still, it’s good. Though it has a smaller 13.3-inch display the higher screen-to-body ratio makes it easier to use without making it feel small.
Performance
Under the hood, you have an octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 4700U, which you would say is old compared to the newer Ryzen 7 5700U; however, it is not. Having tested many laptops, we will give the scores on how this Lenovo Yoga 6 stacks up against the newer APU powered notebooks.
In my brief daily usage, I can say the laptop performed very well with no issues or hiccups or slowdowns. However, I noticed a slight drop when opened too many tabs or applications due to 8GB RAM, but the retail variant will house a 16GB dual-channel RAM, enhancing the performance.
Much like the ASUS Vivobook Flip 14, which I bought last year, comes with Ryzen 7 4700U, and so in terms of performance, the Lenovo Yoga 6 is identical. So, I really enjoy these efficient AMD chips that are efficient without sacrificing performance, and even after working long hours, this laptop, too, doesn’t heat that much.
Also, the built-in AMD Radeon™ graphics help you do productivity works like photo editing, video rendering and other work. Even for gaming, you can easily play light games like FIFA, Fortnite, Overwatch or play triple-A games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider at lower settings and resolution.

You won’t even notice any fan noise or heat at the back except if you are playing games, doing a very intense project rendering, or running any intensive application.
Overall, for everyday usage and work, the Lenovo Yoga 6 is a perfect companion, and in terms of performance, the Ryzen 7 4700U with 16GB RAM will be enough for you.
Ports & Connectivtity
Being portable and light, Lenovo has not skipped on the essential ports; the Yoga 6 comes with one USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 1, which supports both data transfer and Power Delivery 3.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and many laptops skip on this I am glad that Lenovo didn’t.
Coming to other ports, you have one USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 1 (supports data transfer and DisplayPort 1.4), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and a Headphone/Mic combo jack (3.5 mm). So, you have ample ports that make using it easy, and in terms of connectivity, Lenovo has used the latest WiFi 6 (11ax, 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Wi-Fi speeds are also as expected, and the download speed matches the Intel Wi-Fi 6 card on my desktop. Also, the Bluetooth works flawlessly; connecting my Bluetooth mouse and earbuds simultaneously was not an issue.
Audio & Webcam
The Lenovo Yoga 6 sports two front-firing 2W Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos certification, so it should be enough for daily music listening or watching movies. I felt it was not the loudest but adequate, and as the speakers are front-firing, the sound does not get blocked when you place it on a table.
The sound was clear and accurate; I enjoyed endless Spotify sessions while work and the music were loud and crisp. Though some YouTube videos weren’t loud enough, the overall experience is satisfying enough, nothing extraordinary.
Same in terms of the webcam, which is still neglected and is just ok for video calls, much like other Windows laptops.
Keyboard & Trackpad
The Backlit keyboard here has enough amount of key travel, not comparable to the ThinkPad series but still typing experience is good as I write this review on this laptop; even typing for long hours isn’t bad and I love writing using the keyboard. It has two levels of backlighting, and at night too, you won’t have issues at all.
The trackpad is not the largest, but considering the 13.3-inch laptop, still, the trackpad is usable, not the gold standard that MacBooks have, but it is usable; however, I would prefer a mouse anyways.
Battery Life
This one feature of the Lenovo Yoga 6 has amazed me a lot; it is tested to provide up to 18 hours of local video playback and up to 12 hours of normal battery life. So, it is very true as you see in my bride usage of this laptop, I got up to 10 hours of battery life easily at around 70-80% brightness.
As a 2-in-1 laptop that also supports touch, having such insane battery life is great practice, also. You can charge it using the Type-C port that makes it ideal for carrying & using, also charge it anywhere on the go.
Pros & Cons

The Lenovo Yoga 6 is clearly a premium laptop with decent performance for everyday work, entertainment or play. It costs Rs.80k but comes with a lot of key bundled features like MS Office 2019 pre-installed, 3 years of Onsite Manufacturer Warranty, 1-year Accidental Damage Protection and 1 year 24/7 Premium Care.
These benefits are really handy when you spend money on a premium laptop, and considering the performance as well as features, the Yoga 6 could be really your next laptop. It is portable, lightweight, has all needed ports and has a good battery life which can be charged via a USB Type-C port, so you are covered in all aspects.
Although the Ryzen 7 4700U is the latest or best one for a 2-in-1 laptop, it performs quite well, and if you can get some discount on this laptop, you should go for it. Overall, the Lenovo Yoga 6 could really be a good companion, and I have enjoyed it using it in my brief usage, so indeed, this is a highly recommended one, indeed one of the best I tested.
