Former Chelsea forward and current Arsenal player Willian is being pursued by Brazilian club Corinthians. The player is keen to leave the Emirates after spending an underwhelming first season with the North London side where he saw game time very difficult to come by under Mikel Arteta.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player has been offered a proposal by Corinthians and even though he would give priority to European clubs, he is interested in moving back to his home country of Brazil and playing for Corinthians.
After spending over €100 million in the transfer window, Arsenal are trying their best to cut back on salaries to save funds going into the new season. Willian could be joined by Lucas Torreira and Eddie Nketiah on the way out of the club, with Fiorentina and Crystal Palace interested in the players respectively.
Willian moved to Arsenal as a free agent from Chelsea in 2020, since the Blues did not want to give him a two-year renewal. However, his stock has fallen much more during his time with the Gunners and the 33-year-old is now on his way out.
Chelsea are also interested in signing Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid before the end of the window, but will make the final decision regarding his pursuit this week. Since there is only one week of the transfer window remaining, the Blues will have to act fast if they want to seal the deal.
