Apple may completely ditch Intel by November 2022

It’s a huge announcement when Apple made it public that it will be transitioning away from Intel and will be developing its custom silicons. The transition started in 2020, and we have seen the amazing performance of its M1 chip.

While we don’t know when the Cupertino giant will completely transition from Intel, the latest report published online states that Apple would completely shift to its custom silicon by November 2022. by then, the intel will only exist in Apple’s past transactions.

Mark Gurman, in his latest Power On newsletter, states that Apple will “barely hit its two-year timeline” in terms of transitioning from Intel chips to its custom processors. We already have the M1 chip which is the company’s entry-level chip for MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, 24-inch iMac, and the iPad Pro.

However, it’s the only one currently available, and reports state that Apple is already working on the M1’s successor. But since the release of M1 in November last year, the complete transition away from Intel was expected to be completed by November 2022.

but states that Apple’s M1X chips are expected to arrive in the “coming months,” and the high-end Mac mini will also arrive soon after the release of M1X. If Apple sticks with its plans, then it can complete the whole transaction by the end of next year.

Reports claim that the Cupertino giant is working on a new MacBook Air model featuring the MagSafe support. This machine is slated to arrive next year in several color options and Gurman has also reassured that the iPhone maker is planning to update the current Intel Mac Pro with Intel Ice Lake Xeon W-3300 workstation CPUs.
