ZTE has been one of the few brands that have embraced under-screen cameras earlier than most brands. The Axon 20 that was launched in 2020 is still the only model in the world that features an under-screen selfie shooter.
ZTE is not done yet, they recently unveiled the Axon 30 with a new generation of under-screen camera technology which promises a better imaging effect in comparison to its predecessor.
The ZTE Axon 30 5G is touted to be the world’s first 400PPI under-screen camera phone, it is also the first device with an under-screen camera that supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
Moving on to the other specs of the device, the ZTE Axon 30 5G will have a 6.92″ non-perforated, completely symmetrical AMOLED screen with 1.07 billion colors and a resolution of 2460 x 1080p.
The Axon 30 5G utilizes a slender 20:5:9 screen aspect ratio with a 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, that matches all colors in the digital image. The device also comes with DTS: XUltra 3D sound effects that can provide an immersive audio and video experience.
ZTE has added two new smart display controls on the Axon 30: smart pixel enhancement control and smart optimized display control. The multi-drive ACE circuit arrangement makes the transition of the camera area appear more natural. The 7-layer screen structure, special OLED and more transparent cathodes, and high transmittance arrays create better conditions for the camera below the screen.
When it comes to the camera setup, the Axon 30 is equipped with a 16MP large-sized front camera with a single-pixel size of up to 1.12um. ZTE says that it had to rely on tens of thousands of sets of data before it arrived at the conclusion to upgrade the proactive intelligence algorithm 2.0, which allowed it to use AI image quality even in scenes with darker ambient lighting.
The rear camera is a quad-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor along with an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth lens.
The ZTE Axon 30 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset and UFS3.1 flash memory. It supports memory fusion technology that provides an additional 8GB RAM to the already existing 12GB of RAM. This would result in the device having 20GB RAM!
The ZTE Axon 30 5G supports a smart Vlog short video shooting function, with different built-in smart shooting templates. The user can choose music, special effects, and filters as per their preference.
The Axon 30 5G has a 4200mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging and NFC support. The device will be available in 4 different memory variants, the pricing as per storage is as follows:
- ZTE Axon 30 6GB+128GB version- Yuan 2,198(25,161 INR)
