The destiny of Kylian Mbappe, who has been linked with Real Madrid, appears to be due to be decided within the next two weeks. The Frenchman’s future is uncertain at the moment, with his Parc des Princes contract scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the season.

Amid interest from top teams like Real Madrid, the French giants are keen to not lose him in the next few years. Mbappe could very well be attracted by offers from these sides who promise better wages. Therefore, the Parisians will definitely make every effort to secure his alliance with them.

With that in mind, PSG has been caught off guard. If the Parisians cannot persuade Mbappe to sign a new deal, they risk losing their star striker for free next summer, which could compel them to sell him this summer. With the hefty price tag down, it will become much easier for other teams to get his signature.

The Ligue 1 heavyweights, on the other hand, are not ready to give up and are still trying to sign Mbappe to a new contract ahead of the new season. According to Diario AS, the striker’s future will be resolved within the next 15 days, with PSG eager to get things straight ahead of their season opener against Lille in the Trophée des Champions on August 1.

After those 15 days, it is believed that the situation will become more difficult to alter. Mbappe is now on vacation following Euro 2020, and no date has been set for his return to training ahead of the new season.

Real Madrid will be eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the talks, but they will find it impossible to complete a deal this summer, necessitating Mbappe’s free transfer, which PSG will be exceedingly hesitant to allow.
