Every big release gets measured against one question: how did it open? Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s Ramayana: Part One has now landed in India’s all-time top 15 opening days, but it’s still a long way from the top. Here is the full leaderboard and what Ramayana’s debut tells us.

How Did Ramayana Open?
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One collected about ₹76 crore gross on day one in India. The Hindi version alone brought in roughly ₹54 crore gross (₹45 crore nett). That puts it 15th overall, just ₹1 crore behind Vijay’s Leo.
The context matters. Not one of the 14 films above it opened in the Diwali period. The pre-Diwali window is usually a soft phase for business, so the number looks stronger when you factor in the timing.
The Pushpa 2 Phenomenon
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule remains untouched at ₹191 crore, about ₹50 crore clear of the runner-up. That gap shows how hard it is to match a record opening, even for the industry’s biggest names.
Why South Films Dominate the List?
Look at the table and one pattern jumps out. Most entries are South Indian films led by huge stars. These films tend to be front-loaded, with fans packing theatres on day one. Only four Bollywood titles make the top 15: Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Jawan, Adipurush and Ramayana: Part One. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the biggest Hindi opener of all, at No. 2.
A Note on the Numbers
The figures now include 3D charges for Ramayana: Part One. Earlier numbers for films like RRR, Kalki 2898 AD and Adipurush have been revised to match. Because these are estimates, rankings could shift when better data arrives.
