Every long story needs a finale, and Overwatch’s has arrived. Midseason 5 closes out the game’s first year-long narrative arc, sending Doomfist and Overwatch to Rialto to stop Vendetta once and for all. Here’s what to play, collect and watch.

All dates are in AEDT, as given by Blizzard.

Event	Dates (AEDT)

Overwatch x EVE Protocol collab	4 to 17 Nov
Excavation Initiative	4 Nov to 7 Dec
Junkrat’s Loot Hunt	21 to 23 Nov
Drives	4 to 7 Dec
Black Friday Vault Sale	4 Nov to 7 Dec
OWCS World Finals (Guangzhou)	3 to 6 Dec

Taking Reign: The Story Finale

Taking Reign concludes The Reign of Talon and runs five weeks. It has 24 tiers of rewards, including an Epic Sigma skin recolour in the Free Pass. The Event Pass adds Legendary Resurgence Doomfist, Vendetta’s new Heroic Weapon and more. If you’ve followed the story all year, this is the payoff.

The EVE Protocol Collab

Running 4 to 17 November, the Overwatch x EVE Protocol collab brings futuristic skins:

Widowmaker as EVE
D.Va as Lily
Freja as Raven
Vendetta as Tachy
Soldier: 76 as Adam

It’s a short window, so grab what you want before 17 November.

Roadhog’s Mythic Skin

Spooky season may be over, but Roadhog keeps the spirit alive with the Mythic Necrotic Knight Roadhog skin, available from 4 November. It’s a corrupted knight cursed with an endless hunger for souls, customisable across four monstrous levels.

More Ways to Play and Earn

The Excavation Initiative returns alongside the finale. Junkrat’s Loot Hunt is back from 21 to 23 November, offering up to nine Loot Boxes with no daily reset, plus Double XP throughout. In December, Drives return with separate Competitive and Quick Play tracks, giving you more ways to chase rewards.

Shopping and Esports

The Black Friday Vault Sale brings curated bundles of rare cosmetics. Highlights include the Peak Mega Bundle, Hero Spotlight Bundles and the StarCraft Mega Bundle. For esports fans, the OWCS World Finals head to Guangzhou from 3 to 6 December. The in-game Cheer Rally runs 4 to 7 December, letting you claim rewards while following the action.

Conclusion

Midseason 5 packs a story finale, collab skins, a Mythic Roadhog, sales and a world championship into a few weeks. Plan your time around the shorter events, such as the EVE Protocol collab, first. Learn more about the game on Wikipedia.
