East Bengal FC vs Mohun Bagan SG: Match Snapshot

Team Preview

East Bengal are the reigning ISL champions, having sealed their first-ever league title last season with a dramatic final-day win. They began this campaign with a 4-0 win over Churchill Brothers, and they come in buoyed by the Durand Cup final win in August, where Edmund Lalrindika scored a hat-trick.

Mohun Bagan finished runners-up last season, losing the title on goal difference, and now play under new management. They opened with a 1-0 loss to NorthEast United and will see this derby as the perfect chance to hit back.

Head-to-Head

The ISL-era derby has largely belonged to the Mariners. FotMob’s record of recent meetings shows Mohun Bagan with 12 wins, East Bengal with 3 and 3 draws. Yet East Bengal’s 4-1 win in the Durand Cup final shows the balance of power may be shifting. You can review that game on FotMob.

Predicted Lineups

Nothing is confirmed this early. Predicted XIs usually appear on FotMob a few days before the game, and official lineups land about an hour before kick-off. Check those, plus injury news, nearer the date.

Prediction

Home advantage, champion’s confidence and Lalrindika’s form tilt it towards East Bengal, but derbies rarely follow the script. My pick: East Bengal 2-1 Mohun Bagan. That’s an informed guess, not a certainty.

How to Watch

Every ISL 2026-27 match streams live and free on the official ISL YouTube channel, with SonyLIV and Sony Sports Network also carrying the league. Since TV coverage doesn’t include every match, YouTube is the safest bet. For more on the rivalry, see the official ISL derby feature.
