Avengers: Doomsday Posters: Disney+ Paints the MCU

Disney+ has launched a “Countdown to Doomsday” collection, and the new posters are a nostalgia hit. Chris Evans’ Captain America and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow are back in the spotlight, all in Doctor Doom green. Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026.

What Disney+ Just Revealed?

Disney+ added a banner to its Marvel homepage featuring 15 movies and shows to watch before the film. Each familiar poster gets a bright green Doom-style background, a pattern fans have seen throughout the film’s marketing. Titles in the collection also get a glowing green outline.

The Ironic Twist

The 2012 Avengers poster puts Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in front of that Doom-green background. That is a fun irony, since Downey now plays Doctor Doom. He stands beside Hulk, Black Widow and Thor.

A Win for Shang-Chi Fans

Shang-Chi was missing from the original watchlist, and Simu Liu’s reaction was a blunt “Typical.” The new poster fixes that, and it is a welcome sign for a character who has been underused lately.

Are These Posters Hiding Cameos?

Not necessarily. Being on the list doesn’t mean every character appears in the film. The Endgame poster shows heroes who will likely sit this one out, though some may return in Avengers: Secret Wars. Still, fans are speculating that:

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man may return, given No Way Home’s place on the list.
Deadpool and Wolverine could appear in the opening.
Doctor Strange’s role remains uncertain.

These are rumors, not confirmed casting.
