What Is Run the World About?
Created by Leigh Davenport, the comedy follows a group of smart, funny, thirty-something Black women living, working and playing in Harlem as they chase their version of world domination. Career highs and lows, hookups and heartbreak all come along for the ride.
The Cast and Crew
The core four are Amber Stevens West as Whitney, Andrea Bordeaux as Ella, Bresha Webb as Renee and Corbin Reid as Sondi. Erika Alexander of Living Single plays Ella’s boss, Barb. Note that Bordeaux didn’t return for season 2, which refocused on Whitney, Renee and Sondi.
Behind the scenes, Living Single creator Yvette Lee Bowser was showrunner for season 1, and Rachelle Williams-BenAry took over for season 2. Patricia Field, known for Sex and the City, handled the wardrobe, so expect plenty of fashion.
Will There Be a Season 3?
Keep expectations low. Revivals of canceled shows are rare, and Heels, another Starz title that landed on Netflix, never got a second life. Still, fans are vocal, and a strong Top 10 showing could help.
