Some K-drama couples work because they’re alike. Others work because they’re total opposites. SBS’s upcoming romance Nine to Six is firmly in the second camp, and it just announced its premiere date: November 25 at 9 p.m. KST.
What Is Nine to Six About?
The story follows Kang Yi Ji, played by Park Min Young, a logical, cool-headed workaholic who has pushed romance to the back burner. She’s decisive at work but clumsy in love. Then she meets Han Seon Woo (Yook Sungjae), a thoughtful, warm-hearted younger man with a gentle charm. Through him, she learns how to love, and the two grow together in their careers and their lives.
It’s set at a company called Chronic Motors, and it’s based on the popular 2021 Chinese series The Rational Life.

Why Fans Are Excited?
Here’s what’s stirring up buzz:
- Go Soo’s romance comeback: He returns to the romance genre for the first time in 15 years, playing Park Hyun Tae with his signature relaxed charisma.
- Realistic mother-daughter chemistry: Park Min Young and Kim Mi Kyung are expected to bring warmth and depth.
- The “office villains”: Jung Hae Kyun, Jo Bok Rae and Cha Chung Hwa play insufferable bosses, which should give the workplace plenty of drama.
- Relatable concerns: Joo Hyun Young’s character brings in the real-life worries of a long-time housewife.
The supporting cast also includes Nam Yoon Ho, Choi Ji Soo, Chun Woo Jin and Bae Yoo Ram.
Why This Pairing Works?
Opposites attract is a tried-and-true recipe, and the contrast here is clear: one lead is all logic and polish, the other is all warmth. Add a workplace full of difficult personalities, and you have a story that blends romance with everyday office life. A script-reading video has already given fans a taste of that chemistry.
