The Setup: Too Good to Be True
Gyu Bin is a 24-year-old college student with no one to lean on. She moves into a luxury apartment on unusually generous terms and shares it with her elegant landlady, Geum Rim. Soon strange events begin, and the dream home starts to feel like a trap. Jang Gyuri leads the film, and you can read her background on Wikipedia.
A Landlady With Two Faces
Bae Jong Ok plays Geum Rim, whose polished exterior hides something unsettling. The film frames their relationship as a tense psychological battle, and that slow, quiet pressure is often where the best horror lives. Kim Min Chul joins as Bu Young, an ally who suspects the house is hiding a secret.
Decoding the Creepy Poster
The new poster uses a blood-red background and asks: “Would you move into a luxury apartment with zero rent?” A strangely coiled snake sits at the center, surrounded by shamanistic objects:
| Object | Why it unsettles |
|---|---|
| Dried pollock | A traditional charm often tied to luck and protection |
| Five-color bracelet | Uses Korea’s traditional five colors |
| Talismans | Suggest ritual or something being warded off |
| Jar of salt | Often linked to purification |
Together they hint at sinister secrets behind the home’s perfect front, and they promise a film steeped in Korean folk-horror atmosphere.
