Baseball dramas are about more than the game. The real action happens in the dugout and the front office, and SBS’s “Full Count” (literal title) is leaning into exactly that.
Kim Rae: The Announcement
On October 19, SBS revealed through a poster that the drama will premiere in February 2027. It’s a sports drama about people who risk everything in a cutthroat baseball world full of schemes and power struggles, all chasing one prize: the job of professional team manager.

Two Rivals, One Throne
| Actor | Character | Profile |
|---|---|---|
| Kim Rae Won | Hwang Jin Ho | Acting manager of the Stars, who are close to missing the postseason. A former backup catcher turned battery coach, he’s still an outsider in a team that favors homegrown talent. |
| Park Hoon | Jo Dong Hee | The Stars’ legendary pitcher turned pitching coach and top candidate for the manager job. Despite his career, he has never won a championship. |
Why This Matchup Works?
Jin Ho takes the acting manager role, which the drama calls a poisoned chalice, and lands in a storm of internal conflict. Dong Hee resents having to compete against a former second-tier player, and he openly shows his ambition to claim the top spot. That’s a classic outsider versus legend setup, with a championship-sized grudge on one side.
The Stove League Connection
The drama follows in the footsteps of Stove League, the 2019 hit that sparked a baseball craze among TV viewers. Expect the same mix of on-field rivalry and calculated mind games behind the scenes. For a quick guide to the sport itself, see baseball on Wikipedia.
