The film collected Rs 2.75 crore on its third Friday, down 30% from Thursday and a sharp 80% from the previous Friday. Trackers had hoped for a bounce after a rough Thursday, but it didn’t come. Pinkvilla says the trend has gone the wrong way since last Sunday, and that Rs 350 crore could now be a tough target.

Why the Legs Are Short?

The report offers two explanations:

• Franchise ceiling: As a continuing story, the film has a limited core audience. Footfalls are in a similar range to Drishyam 2, around 1.50 crore, per the report.
• Front-loaded pricing: A big holiday and hiked ticket prices in week one inflated the opening. When prices dropped on week-two weekdays, the money fell sharply even though footfalls were relatively stable.

In other words, part of the “crash” may be a pricing effect, not just audience loss.

What’s Next?

The film appears to be heading toward the end of its theatrical run. The report even suggests its blockbuster label could be questioned if the slide continues, though that’s the trade’s view rather than a verdict.
