Achraf Hakimi is ever closer to finalising his transfer to PSG, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The sporting director of the French giants, Leonardo, is now personally involved in the negotiations with Inter Milan.

The two parties are working on the final details regarding the player’s contract, and the deal is expected to go through in the next few days. Hakimi has agreed a five-year contract with PSG until 2026, and only the two clubs need to reach an agreement to make the transfer go through.

PSG have already had a bid rejected for the wing-back, and will make an official bid worth €70 million for the player. Chelsea were among the other clubs interested in Hakimi, but they never made an official bid for him. They were only in contact with his agent, and offered a few players in the form of a swap deal. Hakimi has made it clear to his agents that he prefers a move to France over England.

Despite joining the club only a year ago, Inter Milan have been forced to sell the player due to their dire financial condition. The absence of funds to invest in transfers this summer is also one of the main reasons they had to part ways with Antonio Conte. The €70 million that Inter will receive for Hakimi will go a long way in providing some financial stability to the club.
