What’s the Plot About?
The story follows Baek Ho Rang (Kim Young Kwang), a man living with a failing artificial heart and running out of time. His fate changes when he meets No Bo Bae (Chae Soo Bin) — a woman with the rare ability to generate electricity, giving her a very literal way to keep his heart running. It’s a quirky, high-concept hook that blends sci-fi whimsy with classic rom-com chemistry.
Meet the Cast
Chae Soo Bin, known for Netflix hits like When the Phone Rings and The Fabulous, steps into the role of No Bo Bae. Kim Young Kwang, previously seen in Netflix’s Somebody and Hello Me, plays Baek Ho Rang, and will next appear in the upcoming K-drama Trigger. Rounding out the cast are Cha Woo Min as Ji Eun Ho, Jung Jae Kwang as Choi Do Yun, and Shin Do Hyun in a guest role as Han Seol Hui.
Release Date Shuffle
Take Charge of My Heart was previously expected in a later October or November slot, but its premiere was moved up to October 9, 2026, after another Netflix K-drama’s release date shifted later in the month — putting this rom-com right at the front of Netflix’s fall K-drama lineup.
