Hanuman Ansh Box Office: The Little Devotional Film That Refuses to Quit

Nobody saw this coming. A small-budget devotional drama, written off after a quiet opening, has now crossed Rs. 60 crore nett at the Indian box office — and it’s still climbing in its fifth week. That’s the kind of underdog story trade watchers live for.

Hanuman Ansh: The Numbers So Far

On its 4th Wednesday, Hanuman Ansh added another Rs. 7.25 crore, just a 10% dip from Tuesday — a remarkably soft drop for a month-old release.

Why the Sudden Surge?

Word-of-mouth is doing the heavy lifting here. After a near-invisible first two weeks, the film found its audience in Week 3 and has held remarkably firm since — a pattern almost never seen in Hindi cinema, where films usually fade after week two, not explode. Fans have been tracking this rollercoaster closely, and TechnoSports’s earlier coverage of the film’s record-breaking 4th Monday run captured just how unusual this trajectory has been.

What’s Next?

With Mirzapur now in theatres, competition is heating up. But if Hanuman Ansh holds even a fraction of its current momentum, the Rs. 100 crore club is well within reach — and a Blockbuster tag isn’t out of the question either.

There’s also a quieter money story here: by the fourth week, a producer’s share typically drops to just 30% of nett collections (versus the usual 50:50 split early on) — meaning this late surge is worth less to the makers than it looks on paper.
