Whirlpool of India Limited, a prominent home appliance manufacturer, today announced the launch of its Luxuriem range of premium 4-door refrigerators in the Indian market. The new line, featuring a 654-liter capacity, incorporates Whirlpool’s 360° Triple Cooling Technology and is designed to meet the evolving storage and aesthetic preferences of modern Indian households.

Nakul Tewari, Vice President – Marketing at Whirlpool of India (https://india.whirlpool.in/), highlighted that market research revealed specific consumer requirements for large-capacity refrigerators in India, such as adequate space for large utensils, efficient convertible solutions, and convenient access to fruit and vegetable storage. “The Whirlpool Luxuriem range aims to address these concerns by combining advanced preservation technology, flexible storage, and a sophisticated design tailored for Indian cooking and storage habits,” Tewari stated.

Whirlpool : Advanced Preservation with 360° Triple Cooling Technology

A central feature of the Luxuriem range is its 360° Triple Cooling Technology. This system utilizes three independent evaporators, cooling systems, and airflows for the refrigerator, convertible, and freezer compartments. This architecture is designed to maintain precise temperature and humidity levels in each zone, preventing odor transfer between different food categories and enhancing the longevity of fresh produce.

Complementing this, the Luxuriem refrigerators include a convertible feature, which allows the convertible compartment to switch from freezer to refrigerator mode in under 30 minutes. This functionality offers users increased flexibility to adapt storage space for various needs, such as accommodating party platters, bulk groceries, or seasonal items, while retaining dedicated freezer capacity. The system also offers over 100 customizable storage modes.

Design and Ergonomics for Indian Households

The Luxuriem range features a 4-door architecture, specifically engineered to accommodate the distinct storage requirements of Indian kitchens. Unlike traditional side-by-side models, the wider refrigerator section is intended to house larger cookware and serving dishes. Wide-access shelves aim to provide more usable space and easier access to items. The design also allows for better organization of different food categories.

Ergonomic considerations include zero-bending crisper drawers for easier access to fruits and vegetables, and dedicated storage zones for fresh produce, dairy, and frozen foods. The four-door format is also presented as a means to reduce cooling loss, as users only open the necessary compartment.

Visually, the Luxuriem range introduces what Whirlpool describes as a Glass & Metal Dual Finish (Duo Noir), along with Obsidian Interiors, complemented by Quad Theatre Lighting. Available finishes include Duo Noir, Nero Quartz, Dark Quantum, Rhodium Steel, and Cosmos Black, depending on the model.

Convenience Features

Beyond core functionality and aesthetics, the Luxuriem refrigerators incorporate several features aimed at convenience. These include fully interchangeable shelves, trays, and storage components for customizable organization. Additional elements like soft-close drawers, larger door bins, dedicated freezer bins for spices and nuts, and freezer lighting are also present. The range integrates Metal Cooling and a beverage rack. For after-sales support, the iCare Expert feature enables remote diagnosis for potentially quicker, single-visit resolutions.
