AKAI Launches Nature-Inspired Glass Finish Refrigerators in India

Japanese appliance brand AKAI has rolled out a new line of Direct Cool refrigerators designed for style-conscious Indian kitchens. The 190-litre single-door models come in two nature-inspired finishes — Violet Leaf and Golden Flower — blending glossy aesthetics with everyday functionality, and are now available at an introductory price of ₹18,190.

Design That Doubles as Décor

The Violet Leaf variant features botanical leaf patterns with water-droplet detailing on a black base, while the Golden Flower model pairs a floral gold pattern with a black-and-gold finish — both designed to double as a kitchen centrepiece rather than just an appliance. AKAI says the range follows the Japanese Mottainai philosophy of maximizing value without excess.

“Our products are built to reflect the aesthetic sense of today’s Indian family,” said Anurag Sharma, MD & CEO, AKAI India, adding that the range merges elegant design with robust functionality for modern interiors.

Key Features

• Deep Fresh Zone & Anti-Bacterial Locking — keeps produce fresh with contamination control
• 3-Temperature Cooling — adjustable settings for summer, monsoon, and winter
• 12L Vegetable Box & Large Aqua Space — built for Indian grocery habits
• Toughened Glass Shelves — heavy-duty, adjustable storage
• Stabilizer-Free Operation — handles voltage fluctuations without external stabilizers

AKAI’s approach reflects a broader shift in the appliance industry, where energy efficiency and design have become as central to purchase decisions as raw cooling performance — a trend visible across the wider home appliance market in India.
