Arsenal have contacted Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana for a potential transfer this summer. That is confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast.
The player’s ban from football has been reduced to nine months due to doping and he will be able to train with Ajax from September, and will be able to resume play from 3 November. Onana has established himself as the first choice keeper at the club, and Ajax are willing to listen to offers around €7-9 million for the keeper.
Moving on, Arsenal have talked the agent of, and will extend Emile Smith-Rowe’s contract for five years this summer. The academy product has been impressive over the recent campaign for Mikel Arteta, and the board sees him as one for the future.
On the departure front, Granit Xhaka will be leaving for Roma in a transfer valued at €20 million+. Mourinho wants him strongly, and it is just a matter of details to be sorted out, all parties are very optimistic about the completion of the transfer.
Matteo Guendouzi is negotiating with Marseille, and only an agreement with Arsenal is needed. Willian is willing to leave this summer and the club are open to sell him.
Arsenal made a proposal for €30 million for Emiliano Buendia. Villa made €34 million including add-ons and they sold the player to them. They were also working to keep Odegaard for longer, and with Real Madrid’s new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, negotiations are needed regarding the player’s future. The club were never targeting Bunedia alone, and aren’t sticking to the prospect of Odegaard alone either. They are actively looking at other players in the creative midfield role.
