Finally, Google Stadia is coming to the Latest Chromecast this Month

Google is enlarging the game steaming service of Stadia to more streaming devices and TVs. The very first version of Stadia on Chromecast with Google TV is going to be launched on 23rd June, which is more than eight months of without official Stadia support. NVIDIA Shield TV, the Shield TV Pro, and including the Android TV, will also support the game streaming service on that date. For Android TV devices, you need to have a compatible Bluetooth controller to use the service.

Here is the official support list:

  • Nvidia Shield TV
  • Nvidia Shield TV Pro

  • Philips 8215, 8505, and OLED 935 / 805 Series Android TVs
  • Xiaomi MIBOX3 and MIBOX4

As for gamers, game streaming services are not necessarily a good fit, as one of the big selling points is that you don’t need to have much local hardware to enjoy the latest games. Whereas PC gamers need good hardware to enjoy the games.

The negative of Stadia in this scenario is, you have to buy the games you want to play even you already have bought those games on Steam, Origin, etc. But you can buy a subscription to Stadia Pro which costs $8.99 per month and you will get plenty of games for free.

It’s a big milestone for Google’s game streaming service as Google started to offer built-in support for Stadia to Google TV and Android TV devices.
