Good news for fans of chaotic critters and even more chaotic humans — “Animal Control” season 4 is landing on Netflix US, giving you just enough time to catch up before season 5 hits FOX. Here’s everything you need to know.
What’s Animal Control About?
A single-camera workplace comedy set in Seattle, “Animal Control” follows a team of Animal Control officers who quickly learn that animals are simple — it’s the humans who are the real problem. Joel McHale leads as Frank Shaw, a cynical ex-cop turned animal whisperer, paired with an optimistic rookie who balances out his grumpiness.

Why This Deal Matters
This isn’t the first time FOX has used Netflix to give a show a boost — earlier seasons of “Animal Control” landed right after Christmas last year, just before season 4 aired on cable. Now history repeats itself, with the streamer picking up the rights again to build buzz ahead of season 5. FOX has been doing this with several of its recent hits, using Netflix’s massive reach to widen the audience before shows return to linear TV.
For now, the deal only applies to Netflix in the US, so international fans will still need to check other platforms. Whether season 5 eventually lands on Netflix too remains unconfirmed, but if the pattern holds, expect it sometime in 2027.
