“Toxic” Producer Is Betting Big on Yash’s Grown-Up Fairytale

After two release delays and months of buildup, the team behind Yash’s much-anticipated “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups” is sounding more confident than ever. Producer Venkat K Narayana isn’t holding back on how audiences will react once the film finally hits theaters.

What the Producer Said

Speaking with Gulte, Narayana didn’t mince words about his expectations. He described “Toxic” as an ambitious project with a different scale, grandeur, and storytelling approach compared to anything typical audiences have seen, adding he’s completely confident people will love and appreciate it once they watch it on the big screen. He also offered a simple but intriguing tagline for what’s coming: the film is “a fairytale meant only for grown-ups.”

What “Toxic” Is Actually About

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, “Toxic” is an action thriller built around a father-son rivalry. Yash leads the cast, joined by a stacked ensemble including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth, alongside Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, and Amit Tiwari. The film’s technical credits are equally heavyweight — Ravi Basrur handles the score, international action choreographer JJ Perry has designed several key sequences, and cinematographer Rajeev Ravi captures the visuals.

Toxic: Release Details

A Long Road to the Big Screen

“Toxic” wasn’t always headed for this date. The film was originally set to release on March 19, 2026, before shifting to June 4, and finally landing on August 26 to secure a stronger worldwide release window. With its latest single “Manamohaka” already generating buzz, the promotional rollout suggests the makers are building steady momentum ahead of launch.

Yash, known for his breakout work in the KGF franchise, as detailed on Wikipedia, continues expanding his range with this ambitious new outing — and he’s not stopping there, with a Diwali 2026 appearance as Ravana in “Ramayana” also on the horizon.
